About Us
Welcome
home.
Welcome to New River Fellowship
We’re a multigenerational, multicultural church in the heart of the New River Valley, committed to following Jesus and making disciples—here and beyond.
Everything we do starts with being made in God's image through the work of Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. As we grow in that identity, we live as disciples who are Devoted to Christ—loving what He loves, Developing in Christ—learning from His Word and Spirit, and Deployed with Christ—living out His nature in our families, communities, and the world.
We’re submitted to Christ and committed to disciple-making. That’s who we are. Welcome home.
Our
Values
What shapes everything we do
Christ as Our Life
Jesus doesn’t just improve your life—He is your life. He’s the beginning, the center, and the goal. Every breath, every heartbeat, every purpose finds its meaning in Him. We exist because of Him, through Him, and for Him.
Reconciliation to God & others
The gospel is the story of a God who ran toward us when we were far off. Through Jesus, we’re not only brought back to God—we’re also empowered to live in reconciliation with others. We’re called to be peacemakers, bridge-builders, and agents of grace in a world full of division.
Sharing & Experiencing God
God’s too good to keep to ourselves. We were made to experience His presence—and to carry that presence into every place we go. Worship and mission go hand in hand. We reflect His glory by living lives that speak of His goodness.
Transformational Unity in Christ
In a world that’s divided, Jesus is building something completely different—a people united by the cross and filled with His Spirit. This isn’t unity for the sake of agreement—it’s unity that reflects the glory of the One who made us one.
The Image of God in Ourselves & Others
Every person is made in the image of God. That truth shapes how we view ourselves—with dignity and humility—and how we treat others—with honor, compassion, and respect.
The Power of Prayer
Prayer isn’t a last resort—it’s our first move. It’s how we align with God’s heart, join in His work, and see mountains move. When we pray, we’re not just speaking into the air—we’re standing in the throne room of the King of Kings.

Our Vision
Serve International Community
We believe God has called us to embrace the international community. No matter your language or culture, you’re welcome here—and we look forward to worshiping in many languages as we grow.
Reach College Students
We’re right between two college towns (Virginia Tech and Radford University), and we’ve got students flooding into our area. Let’s pray for them and reach out—because the Gospel can radically change their lives now, before they step into the workforce and take on the world.
Loving our Neighbors
We’re passionate about engaging our community by serving at local events, praying for our neighbors, and building relationships here in the New River Valley, across our nation, and around the world. Join us as we connect with people from all walks of life and share the love of Christ with them.
Some ways we put our values into practice.
